Outdoor Workout and ORC Training
“Outdoor Workout” Those words might conjure an obstacle course but more often you simply carry your indoor workout stuff outdoors or maybe just do the dirty stuff (tire flipping or sled pushing) in the parking lot. Are you ready for a real outdoor workout? We have just opened a unique, $80,000.00 outdoor workout facility. Based on the concept of a “full body workout” we designed and built many exercise stations never been seen before, such as a human powered elevator (which travels 25 ft. into the air) and multiple self-propelled carts on track (think railroad) involving pushing and pulling exercises. We have games from the State Fair such as High Striker (sledge-hammer-ring- bell) and medicine ball basketball with speed return. Trainers often haul their clients to stadium steps for a great run but we built two, 3 stories high flights right here! All the traditional obstacles are here; rope climb, Tarzan rope swing, several types of monkey bars, cargo net climb, slanted rope wall, as well as Spartan-specific log and sandbag carry, spear throw, traverse rope, rock bucket fill-and-carry, A-frame monkey bars and more. Got Old School? Of course we have a wide variety of tires for flipping, and sleds for pushing, but you have to be verrry old school for stuff like our two man saw or the two man rock carry tongs! We intend to have full Spartan type runs with everything but the mud in the very near future and we feel that we are the only facility anywhere near Columbia (and maybe in S.C.) that can truly say this. In October we quietly opened our anybody-can-do-it course to our existing clients and they went nuts! Suddenly the young who had to be dragged to the gym were excited and our senior’s class (average age 74) had to be dragged off the course when the workout was over. Frontier Movement has led the way in Fitness for 22 years but now we are taking a quantum leap forward in creating a balanced full body workout in the great outdoors!
